كتل خرساء
صامتة لا تجيب على أسئلة الهواء المكهرب،
ولا تحدّث أحداً.
تجثو الجبالُ ككتلٍ خرساء،
تغفو في سكينةٍ ارتسمت فوقها
كبشًا عملاقًا من بخار،
أو فأرًا بحريًّا بحجم كوكبٍ
تكوّن في دهور متلاحقة.
السماء حافلة بالسهول
وكثبان الهواء والمراعي الطائرة،
وعلى الأرض مساكن حشرات تحجّرت
وغدت منافذ إلى عوالم لا ضوء فيها.
في تلك
اللحظة
فقط
أحسّ
المطرُ
أنّ
ساعتَه
قد
حانت
من
جديد
Mute Masses
Silent, they disregard the queries of the electrified wind,
speak to no one.
The mountains kneel like mute masses,
slumber in quietude
beneath a giant ram outlined in vapor,
or an aquatic mouse the size of a planet,
fashioned during successive ages.
The sky is rife with plains,
wind dunes and gliding pastures,
and on land the dwellings of insects have petrified
and become openings to tenebrous worlds
At that
moment
only
the rain

that its hour
